Srinigar

Arrived in Srinigar after an incredibly hot and sweaty overnight 10hour train journey. Arrived early morning on Jammu and transfered into a shard Tata Sumo taxi for the 9hr trip upto Srinigar.
The taxi is a 4wd wannabe, kinda based on an old style nissan patrol and are reasonably comfy.
The road upto Srinigar is winding and a share taxi takes around 3hrs less than the local bus.
The scenery is often breathttaking
