Bhaktapur may quite rightly be World Heritage listed but for me a walk around the back streets is far more rewarding.

The streets are teeming with life. Around here you have no choice but to

know your neighbour.

Streets of wonkyness.

Streets or extreme wonkyness....with some lovely artwork thrown in.

Local women sit outside knitting and having a chin wag.

While the men just have a chin wag.

Water containers lined up waiting for the council water carrier. Water

and electricity are cronically short in the Kathmandu Valley.
